Looking for an extraordinary luau? Te Au Moana, "the ocean tide," will sway you with its authentic foods, crafts and shows Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at the Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa.
You'll be greeted with a fresh flower lei when the open bar starts to flow at 4:30 p.m. and there will be plenty of photo ops. Live music will move you to check out Hawaiian, Samoan and Tongan crafts, along with interactive stations featuring hula dancing, coconut husking and kapa printing. The buffet opens at 6 p.m. with koa bowls filled with sauteed fresh island fish, imu-baked kalua pig, shoyu chicken, Kula greens, grilled teriyaki steak, tropical fruits, poi, a host of desserts and much more.
The show is set on a oceanfront stage complete with lavish costumes, dances, song, chants and fire-dancing. It kicks off at 7 p.m. Cost is $98 per person standard seating; and $108 premium. Keiki and kamaaina prices are available. Call Tihati Productions at (877) 827-2740.
