What do racy, strappy sandals and sassy sauvignon blanc have in common? Slip into your stilettos and grab your "sole sisters" to find out.
The second annual Wine, Women and Shoes benefit for Imua Family Services will be a fun way to step out on the town. It will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the Four Seasons Resort Maui's ballroom in Wailea. Boyfriends and husbands are invited to attend.
This year, you may sample as well as buy wines from 20 of Napa Valley's top vintners, indulge in appetizers and desserts by Four Seasons' chefs, watch a lively fashion show, peruse the many "Sip and Shop" boutique booths, and bid for the numerous silent and live auction items.

In addition, the ever popular "shoe guys" will be back for the 2011 benefit. These charismatic Maui men will wait on the ladies by offering up-close previews of featured shoes (carried on silver trays, of course). The "guys" will even help you try on a pair of shoes, as they are always willing to please, according to co-chairs Tulasi Dennis and Gail Russell.
The menu includes bocconcini and cherry tomato skewers, prosciutto with marinated melon balls, California-roll sushi, vegetarian spring rolls, mushroom-and-cheese flat-bread pizzas and desserts such as shoe cookies and mini-cupcakes.
"Saturday will be a wonderful day in which to celebrate women in philanthropy in our community while supporting Imua Family Services" says Karen Jayne, the executive director. "Twenty percent of all fashion purchases made during the event will be donated to Imua Family Services and 10 percent of wine orders placed that day will support our programs. This year we are fortunate to partner with Whole Foods Market to support wine order sales."
Tickets are $95 for general admission. VIP tables of 10 are $1,500, which includes reserved seating at the fashion show. For more details, call Priscilla Veilleux of Imua Family Services at 244-7467, ext. 222, or you may e-mail her at pveilleux@imuafamilyservices.org.
