The Maui News
Funny meets festive for the weekend-long events to celebrate the Maui-made film “Get a Job,” which features some of the island’s best-loved personalities. Thirteen screenings set for the Historic Iao Theater are quickly turning into a block party with neighbors Maui Thing, Native Intelligence, Cafe O’Lei and others. Follow the showtimes today to Sunday (see Movies on Page 7) to catch entertainment prior to each show, including Augie T, Bill Hensley, Indio/Avie Ronen (of Lima Wela), Gilbert Emata, Les Adam, Dr. Nat, Tita and more. After the 5 p.m. shows, Q&A sessions will feature Kathy Collins, Yaemi Yogi (Kathy's mom), and Lana Queddeng (who plays Merton's auntie) today and producer Stefan Schaefer and star Eric Gilliom will field questions on Saturday. A beer and wine garden will be open Friday and Saturday, with an under-21 area for families, and Cafe O'Lei will serve food. For details, visit
