HAWAIIAN MUSIC SERIES IN LAHAINA
Relax under the shade trees and enjoy the soothing Hawaiian music stylings of Joshua Kahula and Preston Ako. As part of the Hawaiian Music Series presented by The Lahaina Restoration Foundation, the free concert will take place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Baldwin Home Museum, on the corner of Front and Dickenson streets in Lahaina. 'A TRIBUTE TO THE WHALES' IN KAHULUI
Pacific Whale Foundation's "A Tribute to the Whales" will celebrate Maui's most-loved visiting mammals with art, photography, poetry and performance. Hula, music and a traditional Hawaiian chant will kick off the festivities from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Maui Mall in Kahului. The public will be invited to share and enjoy music, art, poetry, stories, videos and photos highlighting their love for the whales. Local schools will also share whale-themed art. MUSIC, FOOD AND MONROE AT 'OSCARS'
Dress up, deck out in diamonds (real or fake) and party for a good cause at "A Night at the Oscars" from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Friday at the King Kamehameha Golf Club, 2500 Honoapiilani Highway, Waikapu. Featuring live dance music by isle band Jimmy Mac and the Kool Kats, the event will offer heavy pupu, no-host bar, live and silent auctions, and pictures with a Marilyn Monroe impersonator.
