The Maui News

It's one thing to catch shows with Anuhea, John Cruz or Natural Vibrations. But to combine their creative and cultural energy in the form of Mana Maoli Collective is quite another. The artists will team up to play a fundraising show at 8:30 p.m. Friday at Three's Bar & Grill in Kihei. Percussionist Lopaka Colon, Kapena Delima, plus kumu hula Mehanaokala Hind and six dancers, will also perform. The show will begin with solo acoustic performances by John Cruz and Anuhea, and then they'll join the band. Admission is $15 at the door. Mana Maoli is a Honolulu-based educational and musical nonprofit that helps Hawaii cultural programs with teamwork from the collective: local educators, artists, musicians, cultural practitioners and community organizers.
