KAHULUI -- A 27-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries early Saturday morning when he was struck by a car on Hana Highway near Hansen Road, police said.
The pedestrian was taken to Maui Memorial Medical Center.
Around 12:49 a.m., a 1999 Honda Accord driven north on Hana Highway by a 32-year-old Pukalani man struck the pedestrian 485 feet north of Hansen Road, police said. The driver was not injured.
Police were investigating speed, drugs and alcohol as possible factors.
