Time for a little snack

Waiehu resident Mary Farias greets baseball fan Frank Purugganan, of Wailuku, as he stops by the concessions stand for a snack before the Little League Majors (11-12 years old) Division State Tournament championship game Tuesday afternoon at the War Memorial Complex. Farias was also there to cheer for Central Maui, including her son Orion Miyasato-Farias, who plays for the team. Central Maui won the state championship with back-to-back wins over Oahu’s Makakilo/Kapolei/Honokai Hale, 8-4 and 8-1. The champs next play in the West Regional at San Bernardino, Calif., Aug. 5-13.
