As many of you know, Maalaea Harbor is getting a big face-lift. Restaurants and boat companies in the area are all are looking forward to its finish and the positive changes it will bring. "Fortunately for Buzz's Wharf, the construction outside our restaurant is no longer as active," says General Manager Marla Braun-Miller. "And we are so glad to have our unobstructed ocean views back. However, the harbor refurbishment project is ongoing. So we want to be sure everyone knows we are still here, we are open, and we look forward to offering great food and service to our loyal customers and potential clientele, as always!"
But since construction of the harbor is still ongoing, and the highway entrance on the Lahaina side of Buzz's is still closed, how does one get there?
"It's simple," says Braun-Miller. "Just turn into Maalaea at the red light by Carl's Jr., and head down into the harbor from there. We are open seven days a week, serving lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; pupu in the lounge from 3 to 5 p.m.; and dinner from 5 to 9 p.m. "

Assistant GM Gene O’Neill and Server Janice Bennett dish up panko-fried oysters with lomi lomi salsa and tobiko caviar; and Buzz’s famous steamer clams with extra garlic bread.
So what's cooking? Buzz's famous Markea prawns are reason enough to go there. They own the prawn farm in New Caledonia and export their prizes all over the world. You won't find a cleaner and tastier product anywhere. You may even order 10-pound boxes. Savor them in a silky-smooth bisque, as shrimp and chips, grilled with a salad, baked in shell with dry vermouth and parmesan cheese and served with rice and fresh vegetables, or fried in coconut-panko batter with lime-dill aioli.
Their famous steamer clams are juicy and plump and come with lots of aromatic broth. Colossal onion rings are crowd pleasers.
The lunch menu features a host of salads, soups, Maui Cattle Co. burgers and sandwiches such as filet Diane with crispy onion, mushrooms and red-wine sauce. Dinner offers prime rib, lobster, steaks, two types of fish nightly, surf and turf combos, and lavish desserts. Kamaaina Sundays, locals get 30 percent off food. In addition, Buzz's does full-service catering for events and celebrations.
