WAILUKU - A 32-year-old Kahului woman was arrested Sunday afternoon after her fiance suffered a stab wound in his chest as the two argued, police said.
Artrina Delima was charged with abuse of a family or household member and later was released on $1,000 bail Sunday, said Lt. John Jakubczak of the Criminal Investigation Division.
He said the 35-year-old victim was taken to Maui Memorial Medical Center because he was thought to be in critical condition, but at the emergency room it was determined that he did not suffer life-threatening injuries.
Jakubczak said the case is also being investigated as a possible second-degree assault.
Police responded to Luana Gardens in Kahului at 1:19 p.m. Sunday.
A woman and her fiance were arguing, and when the two fell down as they argued, the man suffered a puncture wound to his chest, Jakubczak said.
The woman was holding a pair of scissors at the time, he said.
