LOCAL BAND WAILA TO PLAY FREE IN W. MAUI
Hailing from their hometowns of Waiehu and Lahaina, Le'a Kukona Pacheco, Kimo Brehm and Marvin Tevaga comprise WaiLa, a band of next-generation Hawaii performers with a distinct island sound. WaiLa will play a free concert from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Baldwin Home lawn as part of The Lahaina Restoration Foundation's ongoing Hawaiian Music Series program. "We are so fortunate to have been mentored throughout our young lives by some of Hawaii's top recording artists and talented performers" Tevaga said in a release. "We hope to inspire Hawaii's youth by encouraging their passion for music the way our mentors motivated us."

THE GREEN HEADLINES 1ST EXPO FOR TEENS
Music, food, entertainment, contests and more will stack the first Teen Expo from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Maui Tropical Plantation in Waikapu. The event is sponsored by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Maui in partnership with the county, Kiwanis International and the plantation. Featured entertainment includes performances by The Green, a popular reggae group from Oahu; Righteous Youth; Homestead; and 808 Vibez. A B-Boy Showdown will also be held. The drug-, alcohol- and tobacco-free event for teens ages 13 to 20 is free. Bring lawn chairs and umbrellas.
