This week the Maui Police Department and Maui Crime Stoppers ask for the public's help in identifying a person wanted in the investigation of a burglary and arson of the Maui Drug Court office.
At about 5:25 a.m. Sept. 6, someone forcibly entered the Drug Court office on Main Street in Wailuku and set numerous items on fire, causing extensive damage to the building. The person then fled the area. Surveillance photographs show a suspect at the scene wearing pants or shorts with a unique logo on the rear left leg.
Anyone with information concerning the identity of the suspect is asked to call Maui Crime Stoppers at 242-6966. Neighbor Island residents may call toll free at (888) 242-6966. Callers remain anonymous and are given a code number.
Maui Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of people responsible for felony crimes; the recovery of stolen property or seizure of illegal drugs in felony cases; or the capture of felony fugitives.
Consider all wanted people dangerous. Do not approach, follow or take other action that could put one in danger.
