HONOLULU - The University of Hawaii men's basketball team will play a game on Maui in the upcoming season, the school revealed Wednesday in announcing its schedule.
The Warriors will face North Carolina A&T on Dec. 18 at War Memorial Gym.
"It's a goal of ours to play on the neighbor islands every year," UH coach Gib Arnold said in a statement. "I believe we represent all the islands and we want to take our team to our loyal fans throughout the state. The goal is to not only play games, but also to possibly perform coaching clinics as well. This is something we are all very excited about."

The Warriors will take on UH-Hilo in Kona two days before the Maui game.
Last year, UH beat Chicago State at the Lahaina Civic Center - that game was the Warriors' first on Maui since a runner-up finish in the 2003 EA Sports Maui Invitational.
Hawaii will begin its regular season on Nov. 14 against Cal State Northridge, with an 11 p.m. tipoff at the Stan Sheriff Center. The Warriors' next game will be on Nov. 19 against Gonzaga at Rogers Arena, the former home of the NBA's Vancouver Grizzlies.
Hawaii will begin its final Western Athletic Conference schedule on Jan. 7 with a home game against San Jose State.
Among the returnees for UH this season is Zane Johnson, who averaged 15.8 points per game in 2010-11 and received WAC honorable mention.
