Lahaina Plantation Days will be loaded with laughs, thanks to emceeing funnymen Da Braddahs. Hawaii’s anykine comedy duo will pull all stops Friday and Saturday at the third annual celebration of West Maui’s plantation roots, located at the old Pioneer Mill site surrounding the historic smokestack on Lahainaluna Road. Three-day festivities open today with a Movie Night at 6:30 p.m. featuring a screening of Japanese-American documentary “Great Grandfather’s Drum.” A stacked list of island entertainers will take the stage when the gates open from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, including Lahaina Honolua Seniors, Richard Ho‘op‘i, Mele Pono and Na Waih‘olu‘u o ke Anuenue on Friday and WaiLa, Taiko Drummers, Josh Kahula & Friends and Mahaka Sons on Saturday. Cultural displays, plantation exhibits, a farmers market, keiki activities and 20 food booths will be offered. Admission is $3 per night or $5 for a three-day pass. Parking is free.
