WAILUKU - Bail was set at $55,000 for a 20-year-old Kula man who was arrested in the robbery and threatening of another man Tuesday afternoon in Kula, police said.
Keahi Tamanaha is charged with first-degree robbery and first-degree terroristic threatening in the 4:40 p.m. incident near Waiohuli Hawaiian Homes.
The victim, a 20-year-old Pukalani man, had arranged to meet Tamanaha because he owed money to the victim from a loan, police said.
The two men were in the victim's vehicle when the victim reported Tamanaha pointed a dark-colored handgun at the victim and demanded money. After the victim threw money out a window, Tamanaha got out of the car to get the money, police said. The victim reversed his vehicle and Tamanaha ran to his car, fleeing without taking any of the money, police said.
Tamanaha was arrested at his residence a few hours later, police said.
