Strong showing for cyclist

First photo: Lance Armstrong leads by 20 seconds halfway through the bike portion of Sunday's Xterra World Championship. Armstrong was soon passed by eventual winner Michael Weiss and gave up ground in the run to finish 23rd overall with a time of 2:36.59.

Second photo: Calgary triathlete Calvin Zaryski scoops up daughter Kate, 2, for the sprint to the finish line in Sunday's Xterra World Championship in Kapalua. Zaryski finished 28th overall with a time of 2:39.28 in the three-part race that combines a one-mile rough water swim, 18.3-mile mountain bike race and 6.1-mile trail run. Michael Weiss won the men's race in 2:27.00, while Lesley Paterson was the first woman finisher, in 2:45.59.
