PUKALANI - Ann Marie Kirk will screen her documentary "Homealani" at 6 tonight in Keopulani Hale at Kamehameha Schools Maui. The screening is free and open to the public.
"Homealani" is the story of the life of Col. Oliver Homealani Kupau, Kirk's grandfather, who lived during a time of tremendous cultural, social, economic and political change in his native Hawaii. He was born in 1899, graduated from Kamehameha Schools in 1918, and he witnessed the transition of Hawaii from a territory to the 50th state of the United States in 1959, according to a release.
