PAIA - His eminence Choeje Ayang Rinpoche, renowned Tibetan Buddhist Phowa master, will be offering his wisdom at the Maui Dharma Center from Thursday to Nov. 26.
He has been recognized as the greatest living Phowa master by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, His Holiness the 16th Gyalwang Karmapa and other noted Tibetan Buddhist spiritual masters, a news release about his visit said.
"Phowa deals directly with our fear of death and our aspiration for enlightenment. Phowa, or 'transference of consciousness,' is the Tibetan Buddhist method for attaining a better rebirth, liberation or enlightenment at the moment of death or in the after-death," a news release about Rinpoche's visit explained.
