Everyone who is looking for dining deals these days will notice it doesn't get much better than at RB Steak House in Kahana.
Besides serving a well-rounded menu with Black Angus steaks that are priced more modestly than at hotels and high-end steak houses, it's on a roll with a sushi bar and now a pasta bar.
"We started the pasta bar a couple of weeks ago and it's a huge hit," says Chef-owner Raul Bemudez, who also owns and operates Sands of Kahana near RB Steak House as well as the Big Wave Cafe on South Kihei Road.

"The pasta bar is open for lunch Mondays through Fridays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m," says the popular chef who makes it all himself. "You get to choose your own sauce from a list on the menu, choose your own pasta and choose your ingredients, and prices start at $7.95. The first topping is free, and if you like more, it's $2 each."
Pasta types include linguine, fettuccini, farfalle, large shells, penne, rotelli and whole wheat. Sauces are varied and include marinara, Alfredo, creamy pesto, butter parmesan, extra virgin olive oil and roasted garlic, Bolognese (meat sauce), sun-dried tomato and creamy blue-cheese and mushrooms such as chanterelles.
Tasty protein toppings include meatballs, Italian sausage, chicken and shrimp. Cheeses range from feta to fresh mozzarella to blue cheese; veggies include onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, roasted peppers, spinach and more. Complimentary toppings are parmesan cheese, cracked red pepper and fresh herbs. Walk-ins are welcome.
Since today is Thanksgiving, you may order the chef's special traditional turkey plate with all of the trimmings for $19.95; or as a three-course meal with salad and dessert for $24.95. The special runs from 4 p.m. to closing.
