Black Friday doesn't truly get under way until the night falls on the north shore's Paia Fourth Friday. Get a jumpstart on holiday shopping during the Maui County town party from 6 to 9 p.m., a street bash that features art, fashion, activities, live music and one-day specials at Hana Highway and Baldwin Avenue businesses. HARVEST BALL AT THE MAUI BEACH HOTEL
Dance to the music of the Moonglow Orchestra during the Harvest Ball from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at the Maui Beach Hotel's Elleair Ballroom. Songs from the big band era, Glenn Miller, a few waltzes and a little Latin will be performed. Silent auction, no host cash bar and light pupus included. Tickets are $30 presale and $35 at the door. GABRIEL IGLESIAS TO GET CROWD LAUGHING
Comedy Central star Gabriel Iglesias will deliver a high-octane show with a night of guaranteed laughter at 7 p.m. at Maui Arts & Cultural Center's Castle Theater. Enjoy a night of storytelling, parodies, characters and sound effects from the comic who won Comedy Central's "Favorite Comic" and "Special of the Year" honors. Iglesias' "Stand-Up Revolution" tour coincides with his Comedy Central TV show of the same name that started this fall. FOOD, MUSIC, MORE AT BAILEY HOOLAULEA
Travel back in time to an old-fashioned island Christmas with "A Bailey House Christmas," a festive hoolaulea with Hawaiian and traditional holiday music, a Christmas craft market, live music and more. The event, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Bailey House Museum in Wailuku, is the annual fundraiser for the Maui Historical Society. Entertainment includes George Kahumoku, Richard Ho`opi`i, the Ukulele Pops Band of Maui, Aunty Iola Balubar and Halau Hula O Keola-Ali`iokekai, Maui Madrigal, "The Mad Bagpier" Roger McKinley and Company, and cast members from Maui OnStage's "A Christmas Carol." 'SING-IT-YOURSELF' HOLIDAY TRADITION
Mark the start of the holiday season with the Christmas tradition "Sing-It-Yourself Messiah," a community singing event at 4 p.m. at Kihei Baptist Chapel. Join scores of others in choruses of Handel's masterpiece with music by a 12-piece chamber orchestra conducted by Celia Canty. Presented by Maui Choral Arts Association, the event features guest artist solos and a performance by Suzuki Maui students; and The Maui Concert Chorus and University of Hawaii-Maui College Chorus. The first half of the evening is Part 1 of Handel's "Messiah," and the second half features traditional Christmas carols. Scores to borrow will be available at the door. 'GEORGIA O'KEEFEE'S HAWAI'I' FREE TALK
A free talk by "Georgia O'Keeffe's Hawai'i" author Patricia Jennings will be held at 6 p.m. at Maui Arts & Cultural Center's Higashi Meeting Room. At age 12 in 1939, Jennings and her family hosted Georgia O'Keeffe in Hana; the connection with the famous artist would last a lifetime and span various adventures and tours around the Valley Isle. Jennings, now 85, will read from her book, "Georgia O'Keeffe's Hawai'i," and show photos from that period as well as O'Keeffe's Hawaii paintings. For details, www.mauiarts.org.
