A wiliwili tree blooming in the wild at the Ahihi-Kinau Natural Area Reserve, one of several spotted earlier this month, offers hope that the native species is bouncing back from a recent gall wasp infestation that nearly wiped out both the native species of wiliwili on Maui and many related imported species.
