LEXINGTON, Ky. - University of Hawaii senior outside hitter Kanani Danielson was named an American Volleyball Coaches Association first-team All-American on Wednesday, earning the honor for the third straight season.

Sophomore middle hitter Emily Hartong was chosen for the second team, and junior middle Brittany Hewitt earned an honorable mention.

Danielson averaged 4.13 kills per set this year, 37th in the nation, with 3.12 digs and a hitting percentage of .287. In a loss to Southern California in the third round of the NCAA tournament last week, she recorded her 21st double-double of the season, with a career-high 23 digs to go with 25 kills.

Danielson was a third-team All-American selection in 2008, her freshman year.

Hartong's .369 hitting percentage ranks 25th in the nation. She averaged 2.23 kills per set.

Hewitt's 1.36 blocks per set rank 18th in the nation. Hewitt was a second-team selection last season.
