CONCERT AND HULA SHOW IN WAILUKU

Enjoy the sounds of the season with a "Picnic for Poki" concert and hula show at 11 a.m. at the historic Kaahumanu Church in Wailuku, 103 S. High St. Presented by KPOA Radio 93.5 FM and Roselani Place, the free event offers live Hawaiian entertainment by Na Leo Lani O Maui, a community choir under the direction of Gale Wisehart and Uluwehi Guerrero, along with Halau Hula Kauluokala.

ISLE LIBRARIES HOST PLAY FOR CHILDREN

In celebration of the holidays, "Sugar Plum Fairies & Teddy Bear-ies" will be presented at various public libraries this month. Peter and Melinda Wing will share stories, songs and skits about this magical time of the year during the interactive family performance. The 45-minute show, geared toward ages 3 and older, is free. The schedule is as follows: 2:15 p.m. today at Lanai Public & School Library; 10:30 a.m. Friday at Kihei Public Library; 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hana Public & School Library; and 10 a.m. Wednesday at Wailuku Public Library.

NEIL SEDAKA TO TAKE THE STAGE AT MACC

MAKE MERRY WITH MAKAWAO'S PARTY

The holidays are in full swing, and Makawao will bring even more merry with its Friday Town Party from 5 to 9 p.m. "Makawao Gives: A Hawaiian Holiday Party" will feature a paniolo holiday parade from 5 to 6 p.m., when Baldwin Avenue at Makawao School to Liquor Shack on Makawao Avenue will be closed for cowboys and gals on horses, horse-drawn wagons, marching groups and farm tractors. Music includes Kepa, Atyana Shapiro-Leiste, Benny Uyetake, Kalama ukulele band, Elaine Ryan and Lydia Panzik. Food, crafts, store and vendor specials will be offered.

HOLIDAY CELEBRATION AT THE STUDIO MAUI

Live entertainment, children's activities, food, a silent auction and more are in store at the Holiday Show & Celebration, a Roots Community School fundraiser, from 5 to 9 p.m. at The Studio Maui in Haiku. The event includes performances by Roots students; Japanese/Indian dancer Akari Ueoka; musicians The Uncalled Fors, Wesley Furumoto and Sundance & Windcloud. Entry is $15 for adults, $7 for kids. CHRISTMAS CONCERT AT MAKAWAO CHURCH

Musical Voices Maui will present "A Christmas Concert" featuring The Olinda Chorale at Makawao Union Church at 7:30 p.m. Special guests include Cellano (Lotus Dancer, piano and Silvina Samuel, cello) and soloists Leighanna Locke and Robert Brantly. 'GENERATIONS' WITH KEALI'IKANAKA'OLE

Na Hoku Hanohano Award-winner Kekuhi Kanahele Keali'ikanaka'ole offers an intimate concert with her mother, Pualani Kanaka'ole Kanahele, and her son, Kaumakaiwa Kanaka'ole at 7:30 p.m. at the MACC's McCoy Studio Theater. "Generations" highlights Kekuhi - a daughter, wife, mother, educator, scholar, dancer, vocalist, composer, cultural leader, role model - and her music, a depiction of what it means to be Hawaiian today. 'STARRY NIGHT' WITH NA LEO LANI O MAUI

Maui community choir Na Leo Lani O Maui, led by Uluwehi Guerrero and Gale Wisehart, presents its third annual holiday concert "Starry, Starry Night" at 7:30 p.m. at the Historic Iao Theatre in Wailuku. Kumu hula Guerrero and special guest Lei'ohu Ryder will sing melodies of the season and Hawaiian favorites.
