KIHEI - Calvary Chapel South Maui has released its schedule for holiday services.
Its Christmas Eve service will be held at 7 p.m., with a keiki presentation, and its Christmas Day service for families will be at 10 a.m.
Its New Year's Eve service is set for 7 p.m., and its New Year's Day service will be held at 10 a.m.
Child care is available for all services.

Christmas cantata performances set
KAHULUI - The Maui Philippine Baptist Church Choir will present its Christmas cantata "Majesty of Heaven" on Sunday at 7 p.m. at Kahului Baptist Church.
The choir is under the direction of Darlene Ronquilo.
A second performance will be presented on Christmas at 10 a.m. also at Kahului Baptist Church, which is located at 309 S. Puunene Ave.

St. Anthony Church announces services
WAILUKU - St. Anthony Church announced its schedule of services for Christmas and New Year's.
Christmas Eve Vigil Mass will be held at 6 p.m. with caroling at 11:30 p.m.
On Christmas Day, there will be Midnight Mass and Mass of Christmas Day at 7 and 9 a.m. There will be no evening Mass on that Sunday.
The New Year's Vigil Mass on New Year's Eve will be held at 5 p.m.
On New Year's Day, there will be Mass at 7 and 9 a.m. with no evening Mass.
From today to Christmas Eve, the Misa de Gallo Mass, or the Mass of the Rooster, will be held at 5 a.m. In the Philippines, Misa de Gallo Mass is held at early dawn for the nine days preceding Christmas.

Waipuna Chapel to offer three services
KULA - Waipuna Chapel will be celebrating Christmas Eve with two services and one on Christmas Day.
Christmas Eve services will be held at 5 and 7 p.m. and include a message by Pastor Dale Gustafson and music by Terry Garrison and Bailey Massenburg.
Light refreshments will be served after each service.
Christmas Day services will begin at 10:30 a.m. with prayer, song and a short message from Gustafson. Brooks Maguire will offer music, and there will be Sunday school for children through age 13.

St. John's plans '12 Days of Christmas'
KEOKEA - St. John's Episcopal Church has announced services and activities for its "Twelve Days of Christmas" from Dec. 24 to Jan. 6.
On Christmas Eve, there will be lessons and carols and holy communion at 4 p.m.; a festive Holy Eucharist with solo recording artist Teri Garrison at 8 p.m.; carol singing at 10 p.m.; and festive Holy Eucharist at 10:30 p.m. with the St. John's Choir, directed by Leah Tinkleman.
On Christmas Day, there will be Holy Eucharist at 8:30 a.m. No Sunday School or nursery care will be offered.
On Jan. 1, the Feast of the Holy Name of Jesus will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. with a Holy Eucharist. There will be no Sunday school or nursery care.
On Jan. 6, the Feast of the Epiphany will be held, with a soup supper at 6 p.m. and Holy Eucharist at 7 p.m.

WAILUKU - Unity Church of Maui will hold Christmas Eve service at Iao Theater, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Potluck to feature Israeli folk dancing
PUKALANI - The Israeli Folk Dancing Group of Maui is holding its annual potluck Chanukah party from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the Grace Church cafeteria in Pukalani.
The event is open to the public. The program will include live piano Jewish music, Chanukah candle lighting and blessing, Israeli folk dancing and a dinner with healthy food, an announcement said.
Israeli folk dancing is held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursdays and from 4 to 6 p.m. Sundays at Grace Church in Pukalani.
Each free session starts with classic, simple dances and progresses to more contemporary dances.

Candlelight services in 'outdoor' church
KIHEI - Trinity Episcopal Church will be holding Christmas Eve candlelight services in its "outdoor" church.
The congregation holds services on the site of the church built in 1853 by David Malo. All that remains of that church are four walls, 4 feet high. That's where the members hold their services - and the Christmas Eve event.
When there is inclement weather, the congregation moves into the parish hall, which they've only had to do twice this year so far, said pastor Austin Murray.
The candlelight service begins at 7:30 p.m. with carol singing, which will be followed by a sermon, Eucharist and Hawaiian music and hula.

St. Theresa holiday Masses scheduled
KIHEI - St. Theresa Church will hold three Masses on Christmas Eve, at 5:30 and 9 p.m. and at midnight.
Doors will open for midnight Mass at 11 p.m., with the singing of carols beginning at 11:30 p.m.
There will be no morning Mass or reconciliation on Dec. 24.
On Dec. 25, Mass will be held at 7 and 9:30 a.m.
The Octave of Christmas will be observed with a Mass at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 31. There will be no reconciliation.
The observance of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, will be held Jan. 1. There will be a 7 and 9:30 a.m. Mass. There will be no 5:30 p.m. Mass.
Observance of the Epiphany of the Lord will be held Jan. 8, with Mass at 7 and 9:30 a.m. and at 5:30 p.m.
The church offices will be closed Dec. 26 and 27 and Jan. 2 and 3.

Keawala'i church's holiday services set
MAKENA - Keawala'i Congregational Church in Makena will hold its annual Christmas Eve candlelight service beginning at 6:30 p.m. on the church grounds.
There will also be only one worship service on Christmas and on New Year's Day, both beginning at 10 a.m.
This year's Christmas Eve service theme is "Sing, We Now of Christmas." It will feature the adult choir, Na Leo Nahenahe as well as the children's ensemble, under the direction of Stephen Haines.
Danny Brown and Ellen Caringer will accompany the choir on organ and piano, and special music will be presented by harpist Celia Canty and guitarist and singer Tarvin Makia.
Seating will be provided for 800 people. Candles will be provided for older children and adults. Children will receive glow sticks and glow necklaces. Parking is available in the church parking lot and along the lower beach road.

Kihei Lutheran's worship services set
KIHEI - Kihei Lutheran Church will offer two worship services on Christmas Eve and one on Christmas Day.
The Christmas Eve services, at 5 and 8 p.m., will include the singing of Christmas carols, communion and special music. They will conclude with the lighting of candles and the singing of "Silent Night" as the congregation's hula group dances the traditional Filipino "Pandanggo sa llaw" or "Dance of Light."
There will be a single worship service starting at 9 a.m. on Christmas Day.

MAKAWAO - St. Joseph Catholic Church will be holding Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Masses.
