HONOLULU - Playing for the first time in over two weeks, the University of Hawaii women's basketball team won its second straight game Sunday night, defeating Portland State 78-66 at the Stan Sheriff Center in the Rainbow Wahine Shootout.
Kamilah Jackson had 22 points and 19 rebounds to lead the Rainbow Wahine (3-7). Hawaii was coming off a 66-55 win at Columbia on Dec. 3 that ended a seven-game losing streak.
Molokai High School graduate Kalei Adolpho made her debut with the UH basketball team Sunday after concluding the volleyball season earlier this month. The freshman forward/center had eight rebounds, two blocks, six points, an assist and a turnover in 20 minutes. She was 1-for-3 from the field and 4-for-6 from the free-throw line.
Kanisha Bello had 15 points and Vicky Tagalicod added 11 for Hawaii, which led 42-37 at the half.
Eryn Jones scored 18 and Kate Lanz 17 to lead the Vikings (5-4).
UH plays Denver today before concluding the tournament Tuesday against UC Davis, which earlier Sunday beat Denver 60-51.
