Olowalu snooze

January 3, 2012
The Maui News
A Hawaiian monk seal lies in some wet sand Monday on a beach in Olowalu. Federal law protects the endangered species, and people should stay at least 100 feet away and not disturb, feed or approach the seals. The seal reportedly arrived at the beach at 8:30 a.m. and was there at least until 3:30 p.m.
