Hawaii Tourism Authority helps fund Maui County events

HONOLULU - The Hawaii Tourism Authority in partnership with the counties has selected more than 100 events and programs for funding under its County Product Enrichment Program for 2012.

The program was created in 2002 to strengthen and diversify Hawaii's tourism product and provide a quality visitor experience.

Events in Maui County to be funded are:

Tri-Isle RC&D Council's 13th Maui Chinese New Year on Jan. 28.

Arts Education for Children Group's Maui Open Studios from Feb. 4 to 26.

Pacific Whale Foundation's World Whale Day on Feb. 18.

West Maui Cultural Council's Maui Plein Air Painting Invitational from Feb. 18 to 26.

Arts Education for Children Group's Henry K. Allen Hawaiian Steel Guitar Festival from April 20 to 22.

Maui Classical Music Festival's Maui Classical Music Festival from May 3 to 11.

Ka'anapali Beach Resort Association's Kaanapali Fresh from Aug. 30 to Sept. 2.

Japanese Cultural Society's Maui Matsuri on May 4 and from May 11 to 12.

Ka 'Imi Na'auao O Hawai'i Nei's Recalling Hawaii 2012 Maui on June 2.

Ebb & Flow Arts' North South East West Festival on June 23 and July 14 and 28.

Ki-ho'alu Foundation's 21th Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Festival on June 24.

Maui Academy of Performing Arts' Summer under the Stars: Disney's Beauty & the Beast from July 13 to 28.

Hana Cultural Center's Pursuit of Knowledge (Hana `imi Na`auao) Ho'olaule'a on Aug. 4.

Maui Arts and Cultural Center's Ku Mai Ka Hula on Sept. 8.

Valley Isle Road Runners' 42nd Maui Marathon from Sept. 15 to 16.

The Lahaina Restoration Foundation's Lahaina Plantation Days from Oct. 19 to 20.

Wailea Community Association's Wailea Wine & Food Festival from Dec. 7 to 9.

Maui Pops Orchestra's concerts on Jan. 29, March 18 and Dec. 9.

Arts Education for Children Group's Maui Invitational Music Festival in February through August.

Hana Retreat/Ala Kukui's Man, Woman and Nature: Restoring the Balance in March, June, September and December.

Tri-Isle RC&D Council's Wailuku First Friday throughout the year.

The Lahaina Restoration Foundation's Hawaiian Music Series throughout the year.

Maui Community Theater/ Maui OnStage's Theatre on the Isle throughout the year.

Maui Nei Native Expeditions' A Taste for History throughout the year.
