HONOLULU - For a second straight game, the University of Hawaii men's basketball team surrendered a second-half on the way to a loss Thursday, falling 74-70 to Louisiana Tech at the Stan Sheriff Center.
The Rainbow Warriors (10-8, 2-2 Western Athletic Conference) trailed 38-34 at halftime, but twice went in front in the second half - the final time at 56-55 on Shaquille Stokes' 3-pointer with 8 minutes, 31 seconds left before the Bulldogs (9-10, 1-3) went on a 10-4 run.
Joston Thomas scored 22 points for UH, which led by seven with less than five minutes left in a 77-74 loss to Nevada on Saturday. Vander Joaquim had 11 points and blocked three shots Thursday, but committed six turnovers. Stokes finished with 10 points.
Louisiana Tech's Raheem Appleby scored 28 points.
Hawaii's next game is on Saturday, at home against New Mexico State.
