Applications are being accepted for two Monsanto Hawaii scholarship programs.
Hawaii high school seniors interested in pursuing science degrees can apply for the Monsanto Hawaii Life Sciences Scholarship. Ten scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded this year to graduating students who will be attending an accredited college or university to pursue an education in a discipline related to life sciences. The application deadline is April 1.
The separate Hawaii Agricultural Scholarship was established last year to encourage students interested in a career in agriculture.
To apply, students must be enrolled full time or have been accepted to an accredited college or university other than the University of Hawaii at Manoa and be pursuing a degree in an agricultural science or a related discipline with the intent to pursue a career in agriculture. Preference is given to residents of Hawaii or Pacific Island nations. The application deadline is May 1. The number of scholarships awarded and amounts will be decided by the selection committee.
Applications for both programs can be obtained online at www.monsanto.com/hawaii or by calling (808) 690-8054.
Full-time students pursuing a degree in agricultural sciences at UH-Manoa's College of Tropical Agriculture & Human Resources can apply for a separate University of Hawaii at Manoa Monsanto Scholarship. For an application, send email to Charles Kinoshita at kinoshitac@ctahr.hawaii.edu.
