HONOLULU - Paul Toner has been appointed as general manager of the JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa at Ko Olina on Oahu, Marriott International Inc. announced.
Toner formerly had responsibility over Marriott's Hawaii properties, including the Wai-lea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa. He began work at his new position on Jan. 14.
Most recently, Toner was senior vice president and chief operating officer of RockResorts and Vail Resorts Hospitality, which he joined in 2008 following many years as a senior executive with Marriott International in the Hawaiian Islands.

"He brings extensive hospitality experience in luxury properties from both national and international arenas, and an intimate knowledge of the islands having spent 15 years managing sales and marketing efforts for our Hawaii hotels and resorts."
At the 387-room JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa, Toner will oversee and direct all aspects of the day-to-day management and operations of the AAA Four-Diamond resort hotel.
Toner began his tenure in Hawaii in 1989 in sales at the Maui Marriott Resort at Kaanapali. He also spent two years, from 1992-1994, serving as director of sales and marketing for the Hyatt Regency Kauai and the Hyatt Regency Maui.
