Rainbows beat Seahawks in first-ever matchup

HONOLULU - Matt Sisto allowed two runs - one earned - in eight innings, Zack Swasey drove in three runs and the University of Hawaii baseball team beat Wagner 9-2 on Thursday at Les Murakami Stadium in the opener of a five-game series.

The Rainbows (2-3) had lost three games in a row. The Seahawks were playing their season opener.

Sisto (2-0) permitted six hits while striking out six batters and walking none. Swasey hit a three-run double in a seven-run fifth inning. Stephen Ventimilia was 3-for-5 with a triple and two RBIs.

Max Schmardel was the losing pitcher.

The game was the first ever between UH and Wagner.
