REGINA, Saskatchewan (AP) - The Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League have signed quarterback Colt Brennan.

Brennan, 28, played for the University of Hawaii and was a 2007 Heisman Trophy finalist. He was taken by the NFL's Washington Redskins in the sixth round of the 2008 draft, and spent the next season on injured reserve with hamstring and hip injuries. He signed with the Oakland Raiders in 2010 before being released, and has not played in an NFL game.

In November of 2010, Brennan was a passenger in an SUV during an accident on the Big Island that left him with broken ribs and injuries to his head and collarbone.
