Local director, editor and writer Darren Yamamoto of Elements Pictures in Kahului is working with an island-based cast and crew to create an action-thriller titled "Outpost Lima."
The short film, led by Yamamoto and director of photography Jess Craven, would be 100 percent made on Maui, with residents comprising cast and crew. Yamamoto is seeking public support for the production via his Kickstarter page, an all-or-nothing funding method where projects must be fully funded or no money changes hands. Deadline to pledge support is March 20.
"Outpost Lima" stars local performer Jerry "Pito" Javier and Lahela Monte, along with other talents including comedian Brad Starks, Laurel Sherwood, Matthew Gilman, Chuck "The DJ" Lehnhard, Mark Harmon and Army veteran Cody Snyder.
