I've seen Jimmy Buffett many times over the years, so I was excited to hear he was coming to Maui at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center's outdoor amphitheater.
I decided to treat myself and bought an assigned seat for $150. That turned out to be a complete waste of money as I could not see a thing, so I ended up standing at the edge in the general admission area, which was $100 less per ticket.
This much-touted venue cost plenty to build but whoever designed it gave no thought whatsoever to the seating. Instead of flat ground, they should have had a sloped area like the name amphitheater suggests.
I will never again pay that exorbitant amount for what amounted to a worthless seat, and I intend to bring it up with the MACC box office. The show was good though and Buffett still rocks.
