The Maui News

The body of a 22-year-old Hana man was retrieved by the Air One helicopter and fire rescue personnel in an area called Shark's Bay on Lanai on Sunday morning, police said.

Lt. Wayne Ibarra said police are classifying the case as a miscellaneous accident, as there were no signs of foul play.

The victim was identified as Zachary Moloney, Ibarra said. Moloney's body was discovered by friends around 7:20 a.m. Sunday about 100 feet below a cliffside in an area called Shark's Bay, which is across from Puu Pehe, or Sweetheart Rock, in Hulopoe Bay.

Ibarra said Moloney was last seen around 11 p.m. Saturday by friends. He and friends were camping in the area and were drinking, Ibarra said.
