WAILUKU - Na Koa Ikaika Maui will start their third season on June 5, the North American Baseball League team has announced, opening with a 12-game home series against the Yuma Scorpions at Maehara Stadium.
Na Koa will only play other Northern Division teams during the 2012 regular season. They have a 24-game homestand, comprising a 12-game series against the Orange County Flyers and another against the San Rafael Pacifics, scheduled for July 10-Aug. 4, and will conclude their home schedule with a six-game series Aug. 14-19 against Orange County. Maui is scheduled to finish the regular season on the road, with games Aug. 21-26 against San Rafael.
Na Koa were 29-40 last year, and did not play their last 27 games - four at Maehara Stadium and 23 on the road - after the Lake County Fielders did not make a scheduled trip to Maui. Na Koa's last home series, and 12 games on the road trip, were to be against the Fielders, who are no longer in the league.
