Mark your calendars for the Empty Bowl project from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at Star Noodle in Lahaina Business Park. The restaurant will team with the Maui Organization for the Ceramic Arts as a benefit for the Maui Food Bank.
MOCA artists will create 200 handcrafted ceramic bowls to be sold for a $25 donation at Star Noodle. The donation includes a visit to the Noodle Bar, with organic soba and ramen created by award-winning Executive Chef Sheldon Simeon.
Outside, a "street fair" will take place under the stars with live music and taiko drummers. Buy scrip for Star Noodle favorites such as Asian tacos, scallop shots, twice-cooked tiger prawns, miso chicken and chopped steak. Other highlights are desserts, cocktails, wines, beers and sakes. Bid at silent auction.
