HONOLULU - University of Hawaii backup quarterback Cayman Shutter was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving Thursday morning, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported on its website.
"We are aware of the incident involving one of our student-athletes. We are in the process of gathering all the facts," UH coach Norm Chow said in a statement. "We have a code of conduct which our student-athletes are to adhere to and we expect them to represent both the university and football program to its highest integrity. We will make a follow-up statement at a later date after we gather all of the information."
Shutter, a junior, played in one game in 2011, completing one of two passes for 13 yards against UC Davis. He played in three games in 2010.
