HONOLULU - Jarrett Arakawa tossed eight shutout innings as the University of Hawaii baseball team defeated UC Davis 4-0 on Friday night at Les Murakami Stadium.

Arakawa allowed five hits without giving up a walk and struck out five, and Brent Harrison pitched a one-hit ninth inning for the Rainbows (15-12), who had lost five straight.

Anthony Kupbens (2-3) took the loss for the Aggies (11-11).

Collin Bennett broke up a scoreless tie with an RBI triple in the fourth inning, and the next batter, Zack Swasey, brought him home with a ground-rule double.

Swasey finished 3-for-4 and also drove in a run in UH's two-run eighth.

The teams play again today and Sunday.
