The Maui News
WAILUKU – The hunt for great, free entertainment is over. Look no further than Market and Main streets in Wailuku, when it shuts down from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, making way for the biggest street party on Maui. Visual and performing arts, as well as informational booths, local arts and artisan wares, store specials and lots ono grinds will give you much to “celebrate” during the holiday weekend. The First Friday event, themed “Celebrate,” will feature the following live music: Lia Live with the Kryptones (6 to 7 p.m.) and Free Radicals Projekt (7:15 to 9 p.m.) at the Maui Thing Stage; Andy Kaina and Kaina Kountry at Wailuku Bayan Tree Park; Gene and Shea Argel at Cafe O’Lei; and Joel Kats at 33 N. Market Street. Check out the free Easter egg hunt for kids and screenings of movies “It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown” and “Here Comes Peter Cottontail” at the Historic Iao Theater; street magic with Timothy Wenk along Market; and performances by Kit Kat Club Cabaret and Bollywood dancing at Body Alive Yoga. For details on this and other town festivities, connect with Maui Friday Town Parties on Facebook and Twitter, or contact the Maui County Office of Economic Development at economic.development@mauicounty.gov or 270-7710.
