A Maui 5K run, aimed at promoting health and fitness for children and families and raising funds for schools, will be held April 22 in the Maalaea Triangle area.
The event will begin at 7 a.m., with an awards ceremony at 9 a.m.
The entry fee is $21.50 online, $25 by mail and $35 for late registration.
The regular deadline is April 18; late registration will be held April 21 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Sports Authority in the Maui Marketplace.
A minimum of $15 per registered participant will go back to the school of the participant's choice.
The Maui 5K is affiliated with the Honolulu 5K, which is a nonprofit whose objectives are to help provide funds for physical education, fitness, play and athletic programs in Hawaii schools; to increase participation in youth sports and recreation programs; to help fight childhood obesity; and to help children live a happier, more active and healthy lifestyle.
