Upcountry road improvements appreciated

April 10, 2012
The Maui News

On behalf of the membership at the Kwock Hing Society of Kula, I would like to extend our deep appreciation to Mayor Alan Arakawa and the County Council and the Department of Public Works for the much needed resurfacing of Middle Road in Keokea. Middle Road runs in front of the temple and society buildings that were established in 1904. Many of our supporters, members and extended ohana travel on Middle Road, which is now so much safer, comfortable and easier to drive.

We would be remiss if not mentioning the road improvements to Koheo Drive, where our Fook On Tong Cemetery is located and, of course, the new bridge on Polipoli Road. All these upgrades go a long way in restoring confidence in local government and enhancing our unique way of life. Thank you again, and keep up the good work.

Morris Haole Jr.
