KAHULUI - A 20-year-old Kahului man was arrested early Tuesday when he was caught trying to enter a bathroom window of a home on Puumakani Street, police said.

Raymond Leon, who lives on the street, was charged with first-degree burglary and unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle. His bail was set at $6,000.

Residents reported seeing Leon trying to enter the home at about 1:15 a.m. and dragged him out of the residence, said acting Lt. Scott Migita of the Criminal Investigation Division. He said Leon was found with personal items valued at $300 that had been taken from a vehicle parked in the driveway of the home.

The door of the vehicle was found open.

Leon also is being investigated for another burglary but has not been charged in that case, Migita said.
