Joseph D. Abilay, 68, of Lanai City, passed away on April 2, 2012 at Lanai Community Hospital. He was born in Lahaina, Maui on February 21, 1944.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on April 17th, 2012 at the Lanai City Church of God; a reception to follow in the church hall. Private scattering of his ashes will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Hawaii.

Joseph was the Founder of Blue Ginger Cafe in Lanai City.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia Keenan-Abilay; hanai-children, Phoenix, Therese, and Mark Dupree; 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and 7 brothers and sisters.
