An April 7 letter writer blasts all Republicans and Fox News as liars. Republican values (that align with Tea Party and conservative principles) are different from his so they are a lie? Fox News tends to report both sides with a little heavy on the conservative. Does the letter writer believe all other networks report only unbiased truth?
The conservative solution to government is simple. The individual right to the pursuit of happiness is our goal. Government's involvement in our business and lives should be minimized. From those paramount values flow the conservative philosophy.
Limited government requires less taxes, reduced federal and state spending, self-reliance and celebration of individual freedom with minimal government intrusion. Individual freedom is the conservatives' path to the pursuit of happiness.
What are the Democrat/liberal values to support the individual goal of pursuit of happiness? Are the Democrat values the opposite of conservative? Do they believe unlimited government involvement in our business and lives is the individuals' way to the pursuit of freedom and happiness? Let those who call names articulate clearly what it is that they wish to pursue the individual right to pursue happiness.
To do so would encourage thoughtful and respectful discussion without smears and names.
