KIHEI - The Yom Hashoah/Holocaust Memorial Service will be held Wednesday beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Jewish Congregation of Maui's Beit Shalom Synagogue.
Judith Elam, the daughter of Holocaust survivors, will be the guest speaker.
Each year, Jewish communities around the world remember the 6 million Jews and 7 million other victims who were killed by the Nazis during World War II. The day coincides with the Hebrew date of observance, Eve of 27 Nisan 5772.
Rabbi David Glickman will lead the service, after which the film "Broken Promise" will be shown. The movie traces the experiences of Martin Petrasek during the war years in Eastern Europe.
The public is invited. The synagogue is located at 634 Alulike St.
