Mulch will lead to meals

Niki Nakagawa (right), 16, and Keoki Muralt, 13, move mulch out of a truck recently in Wailuku. They were among a dozen Hui Malama Learning Center students working on a gardening project outside the center on Mahalani Street. Teacher Tamara Tanaka said the mulch was being spread in front of the center to prepare the ground for growing herbs and vegetables for use in school meals.
