Thank you for the truly excellent and informative April 1 editorial, "Reining in speculators."
The editorial writer is right, we don't have supply-and-demand capitalism any more. We have corporatism. Banksterism. Huge blocks of money gaming the system. Buying up oil to create scarcity and push prices artificially higher.
The same guys we bailed out - Wall Street banks - are paying us back with money they make by stealing from our pockets every time we fill up at the pump. Why can't our government get a handle on this? A year ago, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission was ordered by Congress to accomplish this by three months ago. What does it take? A revolution?
