UH’s Wiseman opts to transfer

HONOLULU - Sophomore forward Trevor Wiseman has requested and was granted his release from the University of Hawaii men's basketball program, coach Gibb Arnold announced Friday.

Wiseman is the third UH player in the last 18 days to leave the program. Junior forward Joston Thomas decided to turn professional, while sophomore guard Bobby Miles chose to transfer to be closer to his hometown of Los Angeles.

Wiseman, a 6-foot-7, 210-pound forward from Santa Clarita, Calif., made 25 career starts in his two seasons with the Rainbow Warriors. He averaged 5.1 points and 4.2 rebounds per game with 45 steals in 61 career games.

In the 2011-12 season, he averaged 6.2 points and 4.5 rebounds.
