I would like to give a big mahalo to the Hana High School Dragons judo team for hosting its first judo tournament. If you were lucky enough, as I was, on April 7 you would have been treated to ono grinds that maxed out at $6, entrance to all the matches for $5, and priceless competitive matches that went on from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
To watch these boys and girls display the art of judo was astonishing. High school students flying through the air, tumbling, grappling, flipping, etc., was breathtaking. The total professionalism from the students to the adults involved should be duplicated in other sports.
