April 16, 2012
The Maui News
The Sounders huddle around Zach Scott (center) after the Maui High School graduate scored the first goal of his Major League Soccer career Saturday, lifting Seattle over the Colorado Rapids 1-0. Scott scored on a header off an Alex Caskey corner kick in the 63rd minute, giving the 31-year-old defender from Haiku his first goal in 2,048 minutes of MLS play. “My wife and mom have been on my case lately about putting one of those away,” Scott was quoted as saying on the Sounders’ website. “So hopefully I made them proud.” With the win, the Sounders improved to 3-1-1.
